Trying an experiment here on the forums: little writing prompts available for one week and then closed, after which another question will be posted and discussion hopefully ensue. :)

@  E-Day : (04 February 2016 - 08:26 PM)

And I would put any Game Players donated at the top of my pile.

@  E-Day : (04 February 2016 - 08:25 PM)

I would love to finally get EGM 86 on the site. It's been sitting in limbo since October 2014.

@  Sean697 : (04 February 2016 - 07:21 PM)

Hey Aloram, eday has EGM 86 scanned except for the last 4 pages. https://community.re...ogress/?p=42137 So if you can scan the last 4 pages for him that can get released real quick.

@  ♦aloram♦ : (04 February 2016 - 05:54 PM)

I'll actually put that last EGM in there regardless, as I want to get that one scanned soon, too, if possible. I'll throw in more missing issues, if that makes it more worth your while. I wouldn't care when the additional issues get scanned; it's just the 1996 issues (EGM and Game Players/Ultra Game Players) and the 1997 Ultra Game Players that I'm interested in getting done soon (if possible). Alright, I've clogged up this box enough, please PM me ASAP if you're interested. Thanks.

@  ♦aloram♦ : (04 February 2016 - 05:34 PM)

I'll throw in the final missing EGM (September 1996) if that's extra incentive. I'll split up the 14 (or 15) magazines between a couple scanners, if necessary. I would prefer, if at all possible, to get them scanned in the next few months.

@  ♦aloram♦ : (04 February 2016 - 05:29 PM)

14 of the missing issues, from 1996 and 1997. 8 Game Players, 6 Ultra Game Players.

@  marktrade : (04 February 2016 - 05:07 PM)

@aloram how many issues?

@  ♦aloram♦ : (04 February 2016 - 10:45 AM)

I know it's selfish of me to ask that, but if it's going to be a couple years before they get scanned, I'd rather just hang on to them for now. Thanks.

@  ♦aloram♦ : (04 February 2016 - 10:37 AM)

I have a bunch of the missing Game Players issues. Any of the scanners interested in a donation? If so, would you be willing to bump them up in the priority list so they could get done relatively soon?

@  Sean697 : (04 February 2016 - 07:49 AM)

Filled out the database entry catalogging game buyer 4 contents.

@  marktrade : (04 February 2016 - 04:17 AM)

I'm working on NextGen 58 but I'm getting a lot of dust lines, and I can't find the lint-free cloth to clean the scanner. Where did I put it?

@  Sean697 : (03 February 2016 - 10:05 PM)

Let me tell you, these last 20mpages of the scan I'm working on now are taking all day. Nothing worse than water damaged pages.

@  Areala : (03 February 2016 - 09:36 PM)

"Whaaaat? The level of intensity on these scans? It's over 9,000! That's absurd!" :)

@  ♦aloram♦ : (03 February 2016 - 09:00 PM)

Wow, I just briefly looked through the "How to Guides" on scanning, and I had no idea it was that intense. Now I appreciate all you scanners even more than before!

@  E-Day : (03 February 2016 - 07:11 PM)

I have been fixing them as I come across them. The issue is more widespread than I thought.

@  ♦aloram♦ : (02 February 2016 - 07:46 PM)

When do you think we'll see more issues moved from FileFactory to direct download via Retromags? And when will ALL of them be done? Thanks.

@  emol : (02 February 2016 - 04:47 PM)

@marktrade Yep, I thought it was a 480px pic, but it wasn't at the end, and I was all "damn, it will look like I didn't read the rules D:" haha. I didn't see there was an "upload new version" option, so thanks a lot for the tip ;)
Thanks also to whoever fixed that image :)

@  Phillyman : (02 February 2016 - 03:51 PM)

just finished up the dates for Hyper magazine. Expect to see 261 new magazine records added shortly!

@  marktrade : (02 February 2016 - 02:24 PM)

@Phillyman looks good, thanks!

@  Phillyman : (02 February 2016 - 02:01 PM)

all fixed now

@  Phillyman : (02 February 2016 - 10:47 AM)

my bad guys, I forgot to flip the Allowed Field. Its a hidden field that only E-day and I control, that allows us to prevent download links from displaying, by default all new records are set to NO, and until we flag them as YES they will not display any links. Fixed now :)

@  marktrade : (02 February 2016 - 01:17 AM)

@emol One thing I can say, though, is don't forget to upload a cover image that is 480px tall for the download page. You can fix it real easy by clicking on "upload new version" near the bottom of the page. You don't have to reupload the magazine, just the "screenshot" image.

@  marktrade : (02 February 2016 - 01:12 AM)

@emol I don't know! I don't see it either, but I do see the url when I click "edit."

@  emol : (01 February 2016 - 05:23 PM)

Hi, guys! :) I uploaded the first issue of a new argentine magazine I'm preserving, and I added a link to download it from MEGA but it doesn't show up on the magazine page :/ I've tried all three of the "Download options" fields, but neither worked. Any ideas?

@  ♦kitsunebi77♦ : (31 January 2016 - 05:51 AM)

The reprint of Famicom Tsūshin 001 (Famitsu) is finished and ready to go as soon as there's a place in the database for it.

@  ♦kitsunebi77♦ : (31 January 2016 - 03:09 AM)

Awesome. The new file is working. Thanks, E-Day!

@  E-Day : (31 January 2016 - 02:37 AM)

While I was at it, I fixed all the links in the magazine database for VG&CE and VideoGames: The Ultimate Gaming Magazine. All but one VG&CE had FileFactory links only, and all the VideoGames :TUGM had FileFactory links as well. They all have direct download links now.

@  E-Day : (31 January 2016 - 01:49 AM)

The new file is uploaded.

@  E-Day : (31 January 2016 - 01:11 AM)

I will upload it again. My copy is fine

@  ♦kitsunebi77♦ : (30 January 2016 - 11:03 PM)

Metron4 is correct - Video Games and Computer Entertainment 031 is corrupt. Only the first 14 pages are viewable.

@  Areala : (30 January 2016 - 10:32 PM)

Cripes, baphoon, you're a database-updating machine! :)

@  ♦Metron4♦ : (28 January 2016 - 01:27 PM)

Greetings, folks. The file for Video Games and Computer Entertainment Issue 031 (August 1991) tells me it is corrupted and I can't open it. FYI.

Sorry, I'm pimping this all over the place because it's absolutely hilarious. :)

@  Phillyman : (25 January 2016 - 09:30 PM)

Thanks Jie, every little bit helps :)

@  ♣Jie♣ : (25 January 2016 - 09:07 PM)

I don't download every day, but thought I'd chip in for the weekly patron. Because I love what you guys do. :P

@  Phillyman : (22 January 2016 - 07:17 PM)

Read how to Earn Patron status - https://www.retromag...ron_status.html

@  Phillyman : (22 January 2016 - 07:16 PM)

Areala is correct as usual :P Yes you can fill out some video game records in our database with information and gain a Patron account. Member Baphoon has been filling out Atari Jaguar records today and earned himself a Lifetime Patron account. See his work here :) https://www.retromag...y/atari-jaguar/

@  Areala : (22 January 2016 - 04:46 PM)

@acer: As a newcomer to the site, you are limited to the number of files you can download from the server per day. You should still be able to use external download links (to, say, File Factory or Archive.org) as often as you like. :)

As you interact with the community and/or contribute to the site, these restrictions get reduced and eventually eliminated all together. :)

@  emol : (22 January 2016 - 08:21 AM)

Great, Phill :) thanks!

@  acer : (21 January 2016 - 11:57 PM)

Great a snow storm is moving in, got to prepare. Sucks I got to work tomorrow evening!

@  acer : (21 January 2016 - 11:56 PM)

Does any one have problems downloading? I can usually get one to three mags to download then I get. You have exceeded the maximum amount of downloads allotted to you by the administrator for the day. Wait until your downloads have finished. Not a complaint I love the site and don't want to abuse the system. Thanks.

@  Phillyman : (21 January 2016 - 04:46 PM)

Sorry Emol, I will get them in there when I get home from work in an hour or two. I got the Gallery and Download sections created

@  emol : (21 January 2016 - 04:30 PM)

Hi, peeps! :) I'm doing a new magazine from Argentina. I wrote to Philly and E so they can add the issue entries to the database, but they couldn't yet :( Is there anyone else who can add them and to whom I can write with the dates, so they can add them? :D
