$5 for Golf? Last time I saw that in person, it was like worth 50 cents, heh.
Nothing to see here. Move along.

Yeah, I could save if I bought bundles. But I want no torn labels, no dirty cartridges and no names written on them. Wish I could find some flea markets around my area, or do some yard sale searching on the weekends. But I am lazy and rely on Ebay :)

Hit some retro game shops during the weekend, picked up NBA Jam and Tournament Edition for $3 each for Genesis, and Daytona USA for Saturn for $5.

Also got ripped off $8 on a bad 3rd party Genesis controller.

My two biggest purchases were an xbox 360 slim and a Samsung Fridge Freezer which cost a combined 2000 Euro. I gave my old xbox to my kid brother. So far, I love the Samsung Fridge. I went from a 9 year old small fridge to a large technological wonder! I have yet to fill it even half way despite my best efforts! I'm thinking of buying a Nook e-reader soon, although I may wait until next month.

Some really nice games there, ctophil. I play emulated SNES games as often as I can, but there is something to be said for playing from an actual cartridge! It's a shame I can't get my hands on a good SNES gamepad. I bought a couple of replicas recently. They were very cheap plastic, unfortunately.

I don't do anything but CIB any more. Sure, it keeps my collection size down, but the game just don't feel complete to me without them.

I can understand it, but the cardboard is just not that meaningful to me. When it comes to cartridge based games, I just want the game in good condition, with a dust cover and possibly the manual. CD games I want the case and the CDs and manual.

Funny thing, Up until last year......I was confused how soo many Sega Genesis users could lose their plastic cases. I didn't know that only some of the games came in those hard cases.

First of all, thanks guys. Took a lot of thinking and pondering before I made those purchases. Collecting complete-in-box games aren't cheap when they are rare. Sure it's just paper and cardboard. But the meaning behind it is what counts. The money that you use is just paper. But you place value on it and make it worth something. The artwork and the feeling of completeness (like when the game just hit store shelves) makes me feel happier than just owning the cartridge. Just like any collectible item, the condition and how complete it is are very important. After over 20 years of gaming, I still don't get why people lose or throw away the boxes and manuals to the games. And some of those games look like they just got ran over by a truck, swam in mud, and been through a tornado at least a few times. I leave my games sitting around for 2 decades, and they still look like the shrink wrap just got taken off five minutes ago.

Don't get me wrong, I do own cartridge-only games. But the ones that are important to me, I must have the complete-in-box experience. :-)
